As a Federal Employee, my problem began in 1986 when I had an injury to my lower back. Nothing was really ever done for my problem, except some physical therapy. Most people know this is not a cure for any injury. My problem continued thereafter for many years. On May 2, 2001 I fell from a work stand doing a major modification on a fuel line as a Liquid Fuels Mechanic. I did the best I could, filling out forms, and collecting information from my physicians. I was virtually getting no where dealing with the people from the U. S. Department of Labor and my employing agency. This was my 7th injury I had since 1986.
After seeing a doctor that I had been sent to by OWCP, I was retired from Federal Service on a disability retirement based on the opinion of this one doctor. This doctor said my cervical and lumbar injuries had resolved. Little to the contrarymy problems really began here.
After months of trying to obtain a lawyer, I got nowhere until I got Mr. Felser’s name. I explained the problem I was having to him and he immediately took my cased and filed for an appeal. We won the appeal and are continuing to pursue my case.
I would like to take this time to thank Paul H. Felser for the work he has done for me. Without his expert knowledge of the Department of Labor requirements in handling FECA claims, I could never have accomplished what we did without his help. I highly recommend him to anyone who has had an injury working as a Federal Employee. You cannot do it along. Mr. Felser, you have my permission to use this Letter of Recommendation as you see fit. If any anyone would like to contact me for a recommendation, they may do so at 850-892-4000. Thank you again, Mr. Felser.
